about

What fear do you want to release?
Where does this fear come from?

This beautiful melody and lyrics are by Michael Stillwater, a cherished mentor, teacher and friend of mine, a never ceasing source of touching lyrics and melodies. Originally this song is played slower and sung in a round with both voices overlaid. While arranging the songs for the album I used a simple Bossa sample for first layouts, and although live percussion was recorded, this loop stayed in the final song. I invite you to use the Brazilian feeling of this Bossa rhythm to “release all of your fears” in a joyful, dynamic way! Encounter your tears as you are moving to the music so that your feelings will keep moving too, transforming you and bringing you to the point of discovery.

lyrics
I am here to release all of my fears
come to peace with all my tears
and discover what it means to be alive
(End with:) We are here

I am grateful for his teachings and his permission to record his beautiful song. The “I am here” ends on the track in my version with “we are here”. Because “We” are all together on the journey.
On this recording is the first introduction of the multi-instrumentalist David Mages, here on bansuri, an Indian bamboo flute, as main feature, along with the vocoder effects created with the audio engineer and studio technician Laurens van de Loo.
