Put your love and gratitude in the water. Focus on the power of prayer to connect with the higher purpose of serving creation around you.
When asked what we could do every day to heal and pray for mother earth, one of the 13 Grandmothers apparently said (►www.grandmotherscouncil.org): Everytime you wash your hands, remember to say “Thank you” in your native language three times.” Our love will flow over into the crystal structure of the water. We can turn
our focus and energy in gratitude towards this wonderful creation through the element of water. This was the inspiration for my English lyrics to accompany this traditional Cherokee water-blessing chant. For the German family, here are the singable lyrics:
“Heilig ist das Wasser, heilig ist der Klang, heilig die Ozeane, heilig der Gesang Und so segnen wir das Wasser, wenn wir unsre Hände waschen sagen Danke, Danke, Dankeschön”
In this track I introduce Erhard Dengl, a well-know German tabla and dulcimer player. He has been playing with many kirtan singers when they are touring Europe (Spring, Dave Stringer). He has also released some beautiful solo albums with his music.
